The Mornington Peninsula SMB Cyber Security Checklist
Eight categories. Around fifty checkpoints. A practical scorecard for any Australian SMB.
A clear, honest read on where your business sits today. Identity, devices, email, backups, network, vendors, incident readiness, and governance, written for the way a 10 to 50-person Australian business actually works.
What is inside
A real checklist, not a marketing brochure
The PDF runs through eight categories of SMB cyber security, with around fifty individual checkpoints. Each item is a yes-or-no question, not a score out of ten. By the end you have a clear picture of where you stand.
- 01 Identity and access
- 02 Devices and endpoints
- 03 Email and phishing
- 04 Data and backups
- 05 Network and connectivity
- 06 Vendors and third parties
- 07 Incident readiness
- 08 Governance and culture
Plus a scoring page, an interpretation guide for your result, and a contact card so you can talk it through if you want a second pair of eyes.

What you do with it
From a score to a plan
The point of the checklist is not the number at the end. It is the conversation it makes possible.
Inside your business
Work through it as a team. The scoring page gives you a starting position the leadership group can act on, instead of an abstract feeling of "we should probably do something about cyber".
When comparing IT providers
Send it to two or three managed IT providers and ask them which boxes they take responsibility for in their standard service. The honest answers tell you a lot.
For insurance and audits
A completed checklist is useful evidence that you have looked, deliberately, at where you stand. Insurers and clients appreciate the discipline, even when the score is not yet where it needs to be.
