Key takeaways

  • Agile IT has joined the Peninsula Business Circle, a gathering of Mornington Peninsula business owners, leaders and professionals.
  • The Circle meets every second Tuesday morning at the Mornington Yacht Club, and each session works through a topical business issue using the experience in the room.
  • Membership is by introduction and kept deliberately small; Peninsula business people can register interest on the Circle’s website and attend a session as a guest.

Some rooms are built for selling. This one is built for thinking. The Peninsula Business Circle meets every second Tuesday morning, 9:30 to 11:00, at the Mornington Yacht Club, and brings together owners, leaders and professionals who call the Peninsula home. We have joined, and we are glad to be in the room.

What the Circle is

Each session opens on a topical issue shaping business right now, then draws on what the people around the table have actually done about it, the wins and the lessons alike. The topics are the everyday ones Peninsula owners actually wrestle with: finding and keeping good people, cashflow through uncertain seasons, making practical use of AI, marketing that works locally. No stage, no pitch, and the explicit house rule that nobody is there to be sold to.

Membership is by introduction and kept deliberately small, so every voice in the room is known. That shape matters: a small, consistent room builds the kind of trust where people say what is actually going on in their businesses, which is where the useful conversations start.

Why we joined

Agile IT has been a Peninsula business since 2007, and our office at Free Form on Watt Rd is a few minutes from the yacht club. The Circle is the same idea we keep backing in this community, from the Frankston Business Chamber to the B.I.T.E Conference and the Business Festival: local business people helping each other on purpose, not by accident.

There is a selfish reason too, and it is worth being honest about. The best way to be useful to Peninsula businesses is to hear, first-hand and unfiltered, what they are actually dealing with. Ninety minutes a fortnight in a room like that is worth more than any survey.

What we bring to the table

What we contribute is the thing we know: plain answers on technology, cyber security and AI, given freely the same way we give them at our webinars and talks. When the conversation turns to whether a tool is safe, what an obligation actually requires, or how a 15-person business should think about its IT, that is our round to buy. Nobody in the Circle needs a pitch from us, and they will not get one.

If you run a business on the Peninsula

The Circle is worth a look. Register your interest at pbcircle.com.au and come along to a Tuesday session as a guest, or if you see us there, come and say hello. The coffee is BYO and the conversation is the point.
