On Wednesday 5 August, the region's business community filled Mornington Racecourse for the B.I.T.E Business Conference 2026. Business, Innovation, Technology and Excellence, a full day of speakers, panels and exhibitors built for owners and leaders who want to step back from the day-to-day and think bigger. We were there as a proud sponsor, and we came away reminded why we back this one.

Why we sponsor B.I.T.E

B.I.T.E brings together exactly the businesses we work with: ambitious owners across the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and greater Melbourne who know technology should be helping them more than it does. This year's theme, Rethink. Reinvent. Reignite., fit the mood in the room. It is also the event that helps launch the Mornington Peninsula Shire's Small Business Festival, a month-long program celebrating local enterprise, so it is a genuine marker on the regional calendar rather than just another trade day.

What we ran at our stand

Our corner was hard to miss, thanks in no small part to a neon sign that read "I'm only talking to AI today." It got a few laughs, and it turned out to be a fair summary of the day. At the stand we ran the B.I.T.E readiness check: a short set of plain-language questions across three areas, cyber security, data governance and AI readiness, that give an owner a quick and honest sense of where their business actually stands. No jargon and no sales pitch, just a snapshot and a couple of practical next steps.

We also put up a prize worth talking about: dinner for two at Paringa Estate, one of the Peninsula's finest, drawn from everyone who completed the check.

The questions we heard most

Three themes came up again and again across the day.

  • AI, and where to start. Almost everyone is curious, and plenty are already using tools like Microsoft Copilot day to day. The common question was not "should we" but "how do we use this well without creating a problem we cannot see." That is exactly the gap AgileAI is built to close.
  • Cyber security, and what "enough" looks like. Owners want to know they are doing the sensible things without over-spending out of fear. We talked a lot about the basics that matter most, and about measuring against a recognised standard rather than a vendor's marketing.
  • Getting more from Microsoft 365. A lot of businesses are paying for licences they only half use. A few small settings and habits can make a genuine difference.

What we took away

The thing that stays with us after a day like this is the appetite in the region to use technology better, not just more. The owners we met are not chasing the newest tool for its own sake. They want the technology they already have to be safer, simpler and actually pulling its weight, with someone accountable when it does not. That is the whole idea behind AgileMANAGED, so it was a good day to be in the room.
