We have been part of the Mornington Peninsula business community since 2007, so we have a soft spot for the months when that community gets together. August 2026 is one of them. The Mornington Peninsula Small Business Festival runs across the whole month, and two events we are sponsoring sit inside the same few weeks. If you run a business on the Peninsula or in the south-east, it is a good month to get out from behind the desk.

Here is a quick guide to what is on, and how we are involved.

The Mornington Peninsula Small Business Festival, 5 to 31 August

The Small Business Festival is a program of Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, run through Mornington Peninsula Business. Across August it brings together presentations, workshops and networking events built specifically for small business, from sole traders and start-ups through to established teams.

The best part is how accessible it is. Most events are low-cost or free, and while some are reserved for Peninsula businesses, many are open to businesses from any region. It is a good use of a morning: practical sessions, useful people, and almost no cost. The full program and tickets are on the Mornington Peninsula Business events page. We would encourage any business owner in the region to pick a couple of sessions and go.

B.I.T.E Business Conference, Wednesday 5 August

The same week the festival opens, the B.I.T.E Business Conference 2026 is on at Mornington Racecourse. B.I.T.E has become one of the region's premier business events, a full day of speakers and connection for owners and leaders across the Peninsula and Frankston area.

Agile IT is a proud Gold Sponsor of B.I.T.E this year, and our team will be there on the day. If you are coming along, come and find us. We are always happy to talk technology, security and AI, or simply have a chat about how your year is going. You can read more on our B.I.T.E event page or at the conference website.

Frankston & Mornington Peninsula Business Festival, Thursday 27 August

Rounding out the month, the Frankston & Mornington Peninsula Business Festival 2026 takes place at Frankston Arts Centre on 27 August. Run by the Frankston Business Chamber, it is a celebration of the region's business community with a strong program of sessions and networking.

We are a Gold Sponsor of this one too, and there is an extra reason to come along. Our Managing Director, Linden Jackson, is presenting a session on what AI and emerging technology really mean for small and medium businesses, the practical opportunities and the risks worth knowing about. You can read about Linden's session on our event page, with the full agenda and tickets through the Frankston Business Chamber.

Why we get behind events like these

Sponsoring two events in a month is a deliberate choice, not a marketing reflex. We think a managed IT partner should be part of the community it serves, not a faceless supplier you only hear from when an invoice is due. Backing the festival and these conferences is one of the ways we stay close to the businesses around us, the same reason we support local causes through our giving back work.

It also fits how we think security and technology should be talked about: in plain English, in the room, with business owners treated as the decision-makers. It is the same spirit behind our own SecureVIC sessions. If a short, honest conversation about where your business stands is useful, August is a good month to start one.
