In 2026, Agile IT Solutions joined IT Nation Evolve, an international peer group community for managed IT providers. Our Managing Director, Linden Jackson, represents the business in the group, and last week attended the IT Nation Evolve ANZ Principals meeting in Melbourne. This is a short note on what Evolve peer groups are, and why a decision about how we run Agile IT matters for the businesses that rely on us.
What an IT Nation Evolve peer group is
IT Nation Evolve is run by ConnectWise and brings the owners and leaders of managed IT businesses together into small, structured peer groups. The idea behind it is simple: the people running managed service providers face many of the same challenges, and they tend to improve fastest by working through those challenges together rather than alone.
Membership is not a conference or a one-off course. It is an ongoing commitment. The Principals group, the track Linden has joined, meets for in-person sessions through the year, supported by regular calls in between, and facilitated by experienced business coaches. What is discussed in the room stays in the room. That confidentiality is what allows members to put real numbers, real plans and real problems on the table and get honest input on them.
What happens in the room
An Evolve peer group is part benchmarking, part accountability, and part hard-won advice from people who have already done the work:
- Benchmarking. Members measure their business against a wider community of MSPs, on financial performance, service delivery, security practice and client outcomes, so strengths and gaps are based on evidence, not guesswork.
- Proven frameworks. Evolve gives members tested operating frameworks for running a managed IT business well, rather than every provider quietly reinventing the basics.
- Accountability. Members set measurable goals and are held to them by peers who understand the work and will ask the direct questions.
- Candid advice. Almost every challenge a managed IT business hits, growth, hiring, service quality, security maturity, another member has usually already faced and solved.
ConnectWise reports that MSPs active in Evolve peer groups tend to grow faster and run more profitable, more stable businesses than the industry average. The point of joining is to bring that standard of practice home.
Why this matters for your business
It is a fair question: why should a client care which peer group their IT provider belongs to?
The answer is that a managed IT provider is only ever as dependable as the business behind it. The quality of your day-to-day support, the soundness of your cyber security, and the stability of the partnership over ten or fifteen years all rest on Agile IT being a well-run, financially healthy, continuously improving business. Joining Evolve is a deliberate investment in exactly that:
- Proven practice, not guesswork. We bring back tested frameworks and real benchmarks, and apply them to how we deliver and secure your environment.
- A stable, accountable partner. Better financial and operational discipline means a partner that is still here, and still strong, for the long term.
- Continuous improvement. Our service is measured against the best managed IT businesses in the region, and held to that standard, not against our own past.
- Perspective from the best. The thinking Linden takes from a room of experienced MSP leaders feeds straight back into how we plan, resource and run the service you receive.
When you choose a managed IT partner, you are betting on their standards and their longevity as much as their technical skill. Membership of a serious peer group is one clear signal that those standards are being actively worked on, not simply assumed.
“We hold our clients to a high standard of communication and accountability, so we have to hold ourselves to the same. Evolve keeps us measured against the best in the industry, and the businesses we look after are the ones who benefit from that.”, Linden Jackson, Managing Director
Part of how we have always worked
Agile IT has been family owned and operated since 2007, and a founding member of the SMBiT Professionals community for IT services businesses. Joining IT Nation Evolve continues that same habit, staying connected, staying benchmarked, and never assuming our way is the best way without testing it.
If you want a technology partner that takes the running of its own business as seriously as the technology it manages, see how we work or get in touch.
