On Thursday 27 August, the Frankston & Mornington Peninsula Business Festival 2026 took over the Frankston Arts Centre: a full day of speakers, panels and exhibitors put on by the Frankston Business Chamber under this year's Future Frontiers banner. Agile IT was proud to take part as a Gold Sponsor, with a stand running all day alongside so many of our fellow local business owners, and plenty of familiar faces from across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.
Why we back the festival
The Frankston Business Chamber runs on a simple line, with business, for business, and the festival is that idea at full scale. The room was full of exactly the businesses we work with every day: owners and leaders from across the region who want their technology to be safer, simpler and actually pulling its weight. Sponsoring a day like this is not a complicated decision for us. This is our community, these are our clients and our neighbours, and a day where the region's business owners learn from each other is worth backing.
The keynote: The Good, The Bad and The Bot
At 11:40am in the main theatre, our Managing Director, Linden Jackson, presented The Good, The Bad and The Bot, a keynote on AI security and governance for business owners. No hype and no doom, just a practical argument: AI is already in most businesses whether there is a plan or not, it amplifies good people rather than replacing them, the same tools now serve the criminals too, so if it matters, verify it, and the new generation of AI agents needs the same thing every employee already has: a boss. The talk closed with four questions to ask at your next leadership meeting and three things to do on the drive home.

At our stand
Back among the exhibitors, the neon sign came out again. "I'm only talking to AI today" pulled people over all day, and the conversations that followed were anything but a gimmick. We ran our two-minute AI readiness check: eight plain-language questions, answered on your phone, covering security basics, data access and how your business is using AI, with an honest read on where you stand. No jargon and no sales pitch, and the check is still open if the day got away from you.
What we heard
The questions at the stand were remarkably consistent with what we hear every week, just more concentrated. Where do we start with AI without creating a problem we cannot see? What does enough cyber security look like for a business our size? And, after the keynote, more than a few variations of: so who should be the boss of our bot? They are all good questions, and they all have practical answers that start with a conversation rather than a product. That gap between curiosity and a plan is exactly what AgileAI exists to close.
